Project of feasibility study for the reuse of rubber with co-firing ash in cement raw materials

Through gathering information from the source of scrap tire, co-firing ash, reuse declaration of cement raw material and related regulation, this project updated the status of scrap tire reuse as the alternative of cement material. By sampling and testing of five different co-firing ash with different ratio from the facility of co-firing scrap tire in boiler, this project could analysis the composition and physical and chemical properties of co-firing ash from scrap tire. Through the test of re-utilization from the co-firing ash to be the alternative of cement material with different ratio, it had detected ten samples of cement and finished the feasibility study. Besides, by taking nine visits of cement industries, this project also recorded the willingness and problems of receiving co-firing ash from cement industry and commented the possibility of receiving it. Based on the test results and interview, this project provided the feasibility study for the reuse of rubber with co-firing ash in cement and proposed the project and content of official notice for the reuse of rubber with co-firing ash to be the reference for EPA’s further evaluation.
